Hello!
I’m Simone, a book-loving, coffee-sipping, cautiously spontaneous pre-med student based in Reno, Nevada.
My path to choosing medicine began from my love of literature. Growing up in a remote corner of California, I fell in love with reading and took all the Humanities classes I could from my local community college. After graduating with an Associate’s degree, I was still unsure about the professional path I wanted to choose. I felt torn between following my passion for literature and pursuing work that placed human connection and service at its center.
During my first year at a “real” university, my entire perspective changed. I realized that medicine is an art just as much as a science: it’s a unique field where human nature is at its most vulnerable and healing is fueled by empathy. I realized that, yes, medicine is for me. Listening to reflections stories from others has shaped my mine so immensely, so I decided to share my journey as well. Welcome to The Healing Narrative.
